I've been well pleased with the performance of the stone and the strop. An interesting note, was that the stone itself includes a small leveling stone to use for maintenance in addition to the large flattening stone provided in the kit. The only real "flaw" is that the stone's base/holder simply doesn't work at all as a non-slip platform for sharpening. It is suitable for holding the stone so it's not sitting on the counter, but requires the use of a towel or other matting to avoid slipping/rotating during sharpening.
