Chocolate Cherry Dark

Very unique dark beer

I was initially drawn to Athletic for the IPA’s and I have enjoyed their many styles of that brew. But I was pleasantly surprised at how good their dark beers are and this one is no exception. It’s an excellent malty dark with a hint of cherry sweetness on the finish. I’ve never tasted anything like it before, but it was just right for me. I enjoyed it enough to repeat purchase.

I like that it was more of a tart cherry than sweet. I don't usually go for beers that have a fruit element added, but I had to try this one given the limited release and the fact that it was another dark offering. Great taste, overall, for what it is, but probably wouldn't buy it again, just given my aversion to the added fruit flavors.

Sweet chocolate cherry

It's a little sweet for my taste. It smells and tastes exactly how the name suggests. Over all it has a smooth heavyness to it and a nice taste. You definitely will get the chocolate and cherry smell and taste from it.
