Solid celery plant
Started in early January, transplanted into 1 gallon containers after 2 months, then outside in late April into white 3 gallon buckets with holes. Plants are still producing in late July after I moved them to a shady spot in early June.

Great germination and hardiness
I was super happy with 100% germination on this celery and it transplanted outside very well with only 3 days of hardening off. It’s doing great and has handled a few 85 degree days already with absolutely no issue. No pests so far either.

Is it even supposed to be this good?
So this was my first time growing celery and I was psyching myself out because all the YouTube videos complained about how fickle celery is and how difficult it is to grow but my first attempt with Hadrian was an incredible success. My germination was roughly 50% but of the seeds that did grow… well they grew vigorously. They seem really tolerant to longer periods of poor watering (I’m a lazy gardener, it’s survival of the fittest around here) and they produced incredible tasting celery stalks, flavor in a completely different league from the grocery store celery.
Did I get lucky or is this a great variety? I don’t have the experience to say for sure but it makes me feel like a garden rock star to produce celery with such ease and I’m going to try to replicate my success next year.
