Sizing is off

I bought a medium as I do in every other shirt / jacket. I also choose the medium because that’s where I fell in their size chart. I have a slim runner’s build. The sleeves and overall length fit perfect however it was very tight in the armpits to the point it was extremely uncomfortable and annoying. I have an average size chest and upper body so I don’t feel that was the issue. I contacted first tactical about the sizing and they gave me an option to return or exchange it. I sent it back for exchange which cost me $30 in shipping. I do not feel I should be responsible for this as I fit all the measurements of medium on their size chart. It is definitely cut weird so buyer beware. Customer service could definitely be better and more personable.
