Same issue
I should have read these reviews before buying. I share the concerns of others -- with the screw in place the box is harder to close, so I'm not confident the seal is waterproof at that point. I ended up taking the screw assembly out, and so the strap is pretty much worthless for me, which is a shame as it seems very well made.

Good and Bad
The strap itself is great! However the way to connect it is not functional at all as it makes it too difficult to close. I was able to just connect it with a carabiner, but not how it’s intended.
