HIGH COLLAR DOWN JACKET

Stylish, warm and packs light

I bought this jacket for a trip to Scandanavia in (their) late spring. I wanted something mid weight, windproof and warm, which would pack light and look stylish enough for both city and country. It didn’t disappoint! It compressed down into my second smallest packing cube, The chai colour is a beautiful neutral in a matt fabric (it’s not beige!) that works with everything and looks especially good with black, white, denim and earthy tones. I usually prefer hooded jackets as collared ones tend to poke under the chin, but the quilted collar was a winner, soft and large for chin down wind protection, and acting as lapels when worn open. Held up against light showers (water beaded) and the boxy shape worked surprisingly well on my boxy middle. It’s a nice change from shiny, synthetic puffers with their rows of horizontal quilting. I followed the underarm size guides, allowing for a mid layer, and it fit well.
