I bought this because I had been using one for a Sig P365xl for several months & it is just like new, great retention, not the first problem dropping or losing a mag while sitting. This one, for the 1911 single stack, is every bit as high quality, and I suspect both the carriers I now have will ride my belt for at least 3 years to come, and wouldn't be surprised if they last longer. And btw, I am very rough on things. My wife could buy me a crowbar for my birthday & I'd have it broke + need another one by the next birthday. It's just how I am, not a guy who treats things "gingerly." Amberide is therefore a perfect fit. Love 'em!

S&W Shield 45 single stack mags will not fit this carrier. 1911 mags work well so I can use it. Was intending to use it for the Shield mags.
