Sailor 252
I would describe this color as a muted, smoky lilac color. I love using it in winter or on rainy days. I’ve not had any flow issues with it in my Pilot Custom 823 with a medium nib or any of my Sailor medium fine nib pens. As with all Sailor inks it’s very easy to clean. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can buy a full bottle.

Gorgeous Chromoshading, Iffy Flow
This ink is absolutely beautiful on the page. It has lovely shading (as in light to dark values) and chromoshades (separates into a range of pinkish purples/ lavender tones depending on where and how the ink pools up). The only downside is the flow. Not necessarily wet or dry, it sticks to itself and the feed of whatever pen you’re using. It doesn’t flow out properly/easily. I used this sample with a glass dip pen and a TWSBI Eco 1.1 and experienced this result with both of them. The ink pooled up into little globs instead of settling into the channels of the glass nib, and I had to press harder with the 1.1 and crank the piston periodically to get a high concentration of ink on the page. This isn’t impossible to work with, just finicky. I wouldn’t recommend it to people who like to write fast, especially since the color turns out much lighter and less vibrant unless a heavy application of ink is used. The result is great but not worth the effort for me. I wonder if an additive would help without taking away the shading properties?

Its a nice umm gray?
I thought this color would be more pink, it shows a little pink when I use a paint brush to swatch big splotches, but when writing in any pen I have it just looks like pencil lead color, so I was a little confused. I call it my nice but deceiving ink lol
