Coping with proportions

The manufacturer's stated lug width of my daughter's Certina Podium DS is 18mm. I purchased 18mm straps to interchange with her Charlie Paris Initial 36 and the Podium DS. The spring bar on the aftermarket strap did not firmly attach to the lugs on the Certina. The actual lug width measured 18.3 mm. I tried several manufacturer's 19mm QR spring bars--they worked with the Certina, but would not fit into the Charlie Paris lugs, Then I tried the Delugs 19mm QR. The strap firmly attached to the Certina, but compressed enough to fit the 18mm lugs of the Charlie Paris. Problem solved.
