Try Basil Simplyherbs™

Good, but not completely great

I've used, this season, the "TRY BASIL SIMPLYHERBS™" from Territorial Seed Co. and the result and yield has been good, but not "great." I had to replant several times, starting in late February / early March here where I am, in Portland, Oregon, for my little window sill kitchen herb garden, which tends to be rainy & cold (40ºF - 60ºF) during that time of year. It took several re-plantings with their "seed pods" (several seeds, all in one spherical grouped "pod") over 3 months to get seeds to take and begin growing; however, now I have some healthy purple thai and green genovese basil growing in two pots on my west facing window sill (gets lots of afternoon sun). One other thing I would prefer is if the seed pods were marked as to whether they contain genovese or purple thai basil, so I could plant them in separate pots. Other than all that, a decent yield of basil (see attached pic).

Where I planted each little pellet a cute bundle of leaves are starting to poke out of the soil — dark red and green. They are inside now and when they are ready to be planted out I will put them in pots — saving a few for gifts!

Grows great, fun variety! Will definitely buy again
