Smooth operator! (Me w/ my Time Timer that is!)
BLUF: Get it and you'll see a time benefit almost immediately. I've had my eye on this little gem since before Christmas. Santa didn't deliver. However, ironically a family member purchased me an "off-brand" from Amazon the day after I purchased this one. I've been able to compare side-by-side. Hands down Time Timer gets my 5 star vote - if for quality alone - yet there is much more. I bought the 60 minute and use it for Pomodoro's, etc. The visual cues are incredibly helpful for my ADHD (time blindness / future nearsightedness LOL). I quickly appreciated how the Time Timer knob only requires a short-easy-turn to the time I set and boom…history in the making! Or just my AM Routine... Helpful for time tracking, time blocking, and keeping me time conscious overall. My biggest negative is that I can't hear the tick-tock which I realize helps me stay time conscious (“hearing” time wind down). The competitor brand I compared to, requires a full 360 wind-up turn, then counterclockwise back to the time # I want. Annoying – just a slight barrier – I know over time I would gravitate away. The soft case makes slipping almost impossible yet durable enough for packing in my pack to work. Color is fun / cool. The Sprint Edition booklet is informative and I'm excited to do my first sprint someday - worth the purchase. I do VERY much like the RED circle, as it stick's out (more noticeable in my opinion). A subdued color would look sleek / professional, but I'm function-over-form-focused baby. I largely stopped caring what people think about me because I need a bright color staring me in the face, I need all the help with time I can get! Pulling out all the stops. If you opt for another wheel color it will give you a varied visual result...the other "off-brand" I have is a rainbow wheel of colors, and it's just not as visually helpful / noticeable. It's not too loud but loud enough to get my attention, and I even added two little pieces of clear scotch tape over the sound vent, makes just the right noise for me. I used it in the office recently (a quiet cubicle farm with about 10 other employees within ear shot) and the sound level worked. If I was doing 25 min Pomodoro's all day-long, I'd just add a few more pieces of tape under the vent. Don't take my word for it though, try one for yourself! Worth every cent, and like I said the quality of workmanship is evident. I could see this being a really handy team meeting tool. Helping talkers get concise, and socially bonded teams maintain engagement. External motivator! PS – try carrying it from room-to-room / task-to-task and use it for a continuous stretch of time. I think you’ll notice what I did – I was much more “on-task” with my new friend Mr. Timer.
