It catches arrows real good.

Before this target we, my wife and I, were shooting on a homemade butt made from old carpet. That worked well enough for me. However my wife’s bow being much less draw weight was another matter. Her arrows would often bounce back out. Very frustrating. With this Bulldog target her arrows stick. And you know what they say about a happy wife. Arrows are easy to pull out until it gets to the point. All of our points are slightly larger in diameter than the shafts. Seems quite common to have points with a bit of a bulbous feature. It takes a little more effort to get that bulbous point out through the fabric on the face. No arrow is ever going to bounce out of these babies.

Not For Wood Arrows. Size Not As Advertised.

Good thing I waited for the 36”x36”x12” Range Dog to arrive before I built the stand. The 12” target is actually 16” thick. We use traditional wood bows between 25#’s and 35#’s, and wood arrows with standard field tips. I was hoping this target would last longer than a quality bag target. Well, the Range Dog target stops the arrows but won’t let them go. It takes two hands and a few serious tugs to pull the arrows out. Not at all what I expected. Don’t buy this target for traditional wooden arrows.
