The HD Bar End fits the ends of the HD crossbar just fine. It is solid. I’m only giving this product a rating of 3 for two reasons. First, it needs to be shorter so people can use the Thule’s Hullavator. I wanted to get Yakima’s version of the Hullavator and the reviews were not great, so I purchased Thule’s product for holding my kayak instead. The Hullavator runs into the bar ends when you attempt to pull your kayak down from your vehicle’s roof height to waist level. If I remove the HD Bar Ends, the Hullavator works just fine. Second, I bought a pair of bar ends and cut the end off so they will be shorter to accommodate the Hullavator and what do you suppose I discovered? Well, the plastic innards are uneven on the inside. It’s nothing you can see on the outside of the bar ends and the innards are probably structurally okay, but the craftsmanship is lacking. People reading this will probably think the bar ends are just plastic and I’m being super critical. But there is something to be said about good craftsmanship.
