Pilots Modular Kneeboard

Overall, the kneeboard is one of the better ones in the market in terms of customizability. The large Velcro pads on the sides allow infinite combinations and really allow the pilot/engineer to fit their needs. I will say that I have larger thighs and the Velcro/elastic strap barely reaches fully around my thigh and the elastic is tight it almost feels like a blood pressure cuff. But I am definitely above average in weight. I have yet to use the iPad portion of this kneeboard, but it is nice that you can customize the straps to any mini size tablet or phone. I don't really like that to use the clipboard underneath I would have to flip my iPad towards my knee. If the iPad mount had side Velcro attachments it would be even more customizable to the user's needs. I like this one better than other customizable kneeboards on the market because it feels A LOT LESS cluttered than others. The Velcro is in handy spots and I think with some imagination the kneeboard can even be upgraded by its user by buying some Velcro and supplies. The clipboard is nice because it locks in place with Velcro. This means that you can stand up and using the belt strap, the kneeboard stays right in place in the configuration that you set it up in. The clear window over the clipboard is a little tight to get anything in there, but I am sure with time that it will get easier. I purchased the ring attachment for my kneeboard and I don't have any complaints about it other than the rings are hard to use...that being said, they are probably meant for more permanent use rather than for my role as a flight test engineer. One thing that I had thought might have been included was some sort of Velcro pen holder. For some reason, I thought that it would have been included rather than having to pay $2-$5 for a small piece of elastic with Velcro. But it was not advertised as included so that's really on me. Overall, my review for 4 stars is less so a diss on the product, but rather suggestions for how to improve the kneeboard from my perspective. I would absolutely recommend the product to anyone that thinks it will fit their needs. ESPECIALLY if their role changes as frequently as mine. The craftmanship of the product is really high quality and I can expect to have this kneeboard deep into my career. Thanks for reading!
