Rapid Raft

Great solution for backpacking and preparedness!

For many years have carried a series of small inflatable kayaks for stream and river crossings out west, including in the Rockies and the Grand Canyon. The other brands of inflatables tend to be heavy, and also require carrying a heavy pump and paddles. Bought one of Uncharted's Rapid Rafts to carry in my pack when I might need to cross a creek while hiking, or to fish from while camped. This raft fits in a small stuff sack, is made of bombproof material, does not require a pump, and for many trips I don't carry paddles because the sides of the raft are low enough that I can use my hands alone to propel me across a stream. These features provide an enormous weight saving, and when every ounce counts, this is the best on the market! The Rapid Raft does not appear to have been designed to hold air all day while shooting whitewater, and should not be bought for purposes like this. But, for specific purpose like crossing a stream or small river, fishing on a backcountry lake, or disaster preparedness, it's ideal!
