P574: Compote

First project

Ok, it might have been a little ambitious to do for a first project, I had never picked up a rug hook in my life. The pattern was not exactly as pictured. There was flowers on the bowl and legs on the bowl that were a surprise but did them anyway. The peach color,shading was by far the hardest to do. I ended up using chenille which actually gave it some fuzzy texture. My friends at arts and crafts were surprised by what I accomplished on my own. At 71 you don't have time to waste, just jump in and do it. I am pretty happy with the results. The back is a mess, my fault, didn't know that you ended a piece on the top, so there are a lot of bits in back. No matter i will cover those sins with fabric.

Taking a course

Varied fruit a real bonus. Enough back ground as a relief from concentrated hooking. Almost done. Ordervarrived in time for course start. Thank you.
