Wow! LOVE this unique scent! It reminds me exactly of a small family owned hardware store in the 90s. Any older mom and pop’s shop even. It really captures the scent of an old family run small business. The blend is *chef’s kiss* I’ve never smelled a candle like this. You can tell immediately how much time and effort went into creating this scent. But also that’s every scent Tash makes, so no surprise but always such a pleasure. I so appreciate the attention to detail and nostalgia all of the Dio scents have brought to our home! If you like candles you’ll love Dio. If you love candles, you may just end up with an obsession.

Smells like Just Some Guy

Does it smell like a hardware store? Yes and no. It doesn't smell like concrete and paint thinner, but it does definitely smell industrial. More specifically, it smells like a hardware store with Just Some Guy in it. Don't mistake me as saying this "smells manly" - I mean, I suppose it does, but not with the intentional full-chestedness of like a Squatch soap or whatever. It does not smell like a man who wears cologne. It smells like a hardware store with Just Some Guy in it, and that guy probably smokes and probably uses deodorant with an amber base without really thinking about it too much. It smells like blue jeans with drywall dust, a sunbaked air freshener in the truck, and only shaving your beard if your employer asks you to for a respirator fit test. It smells like someone who works outside and wears Carmex even if it rubs off on their cigs, because their lips crack in the wind from chronic McDonald's Coke-fueled dehydration. Truly a candle for the people who build, haul, and dump. I had a Tonka computer game growing up that came with a keyboard overlay that had a steering wheel and some levers, and the character in the tutorials was some smiling, Paul Bunyan-esque construction dude with a dorky outfit - this is his candle.
