Cool to the touch. If you feel too warm on a plain foam topper, this protector keeps the bed cooler. It feels like I don't sink as deep into the foam with this protector on top which helps make the bed feel cooler. It ended up functioning as a thin alternative to a pillow topper. When moving around on the bed it's not completely silent like foam can be by itself, but it's not noisy. Bottom layer appears to prevent any liquid from passing though.

Best mattress pad I've ever owned. It doesn't migrate and stays flat. Got it because of hot/cold issues I'm having due to chemo. Don't know how or why it's working for me, but I'm sleeping more deeply and comfortably, waking refreshed. Love it so much I immediately bought one for my friends birthday! Keeps my topper in place too.
