The new remote has a slimmer profile thanks to the improved battery compartment. The buttons have a more responsive feel as well. It has a nice solid feel in the hand.

This product is well worth the investment. $100 for a remote control? Worth it! I have one of the old DAC1s. I had been using my streamer as a volume control. Now that I’m leaving that fixed and using the DAC to control the volume, the quality of the sound is night and day. Cannot recommend enough if you’re using your streamer to control the volume don’t! I’m running a pair of older Vandersteen speakers, I’m not sure if I would’ve replaced them if I hadn’t known they could’ve sounded this good.
