Saw the actual problem while removing the old one....
The installation of this was easy, and the diagnosis was too, but I did not diagnose the true problem until I removed the panel. On the underside there was a telltale black flash. This is the relay. It is electromechanical, which you can hear click when the heater comes on and off when heated up. The relay itself would only cost $10 but then you would have to solder it in..... luckily it is easy and inexpensive buy and install a new sub-panel. No error code. But I should have been able to figure this out easily enough. NEXT TIME!!!!

I'm back to roasting
After receiving the E4 error code on my roaster purchased in 2010, I followed the instructions on the Gene Cafe site on diagnosing. I was able to determine that the heating element was not getting any power. I purchased this replacement and was able to easily swap in the new part and get back to roasting.

Power Supply Replacement
I own two roasters, the older was purchased in 2006. The second was purchased in 2014. The newer unit went totally dead mid roast. Visited the Gene Cafe repair parts Web site. Purchased a new power board and swapped out the board in about 5 min. The prices are reasonable and they fill orders quickly. While I was replacing the power board, I also replaced the power cord that looked baked and cracked. Those parts are available also.
