Wow!
I was frankly skeptical about using an ab mat, since as an older exerciser I plank and do curls to protect my back. But the ab mat is fantastic for sit-ups with no strain. The full range of motion, including the backward stretch, is wonderful. This mat is well made and comfortable, and the price is a bargain.
