Juka's fonio is the best out of 3 fonio grains I've tried. Fonio lets me eat grain with the lowest allergic reaction of any grain I've tried. Millet is also good but I like fonio more. If you haven't tried fonio be aware that it expands about 5 times its volume when you add liquid to cook it.

Fonio for gluten sensitivity

I bought a small packet of fonio when it came in as a new product at my natural foods market, and discovered it to be super digestible, nutritious and palatable. As well as being gluten sensitive, I have trouble digesting rice, quinoa and corn. I was so delighted with fonio I looked on the internet and found it from your company, liking that it was organic and in a larger quantity in a glass jar. I also like supporting an industry offering good, traditional employment for African women. Fonio which comes like this is amazing, cooking up in 5 minutes to a fluffy grits consistency, a base for a grain bowl meal. Eating it feels 'ancestral', and floods me with a sense of well-being. I highly recommend your product. Fonio has appeared suddenly in my life and become a staple food. Try serving with vegetables sauteed in olive oil and topped with Ethiopian berbere hot sauce!
