John and Leslie are great people and they made me a pair of beautifully finished paddles that feel great to hold. Each paddle is unique and I’m really going to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into these when they touch water for the first time in Algonquin. Beautiful deep grain in this black walnut. Almost as dark as an action beavertail. The finish picks up light like a gemstone.
