1730 Transport Case

Great Case! Great BIG case!

The Pelican reputation for toughness and quality is well earned. I got the 1730 case for transporting several astrophotography telescopes to dark sites. I already use a Pelican Storm case to transport the equatorial mount so choosing a Pelican transport case for my telescopes was most reasonable course. The 1730 is a large case and I’m glad I measured the door widths I need to navigate. It took a couple of days to juggle the equipment around until I found the best fit scenario for the case. The loaded weight of case plus equipment should be taken into consideration when planning. In my situation it’s about 50/50 making my total weight about 75 lbs. Still manageable for one person though. I wheeled the loaded case across a variety of hard surfaces and it managed those without issue. I’m not sure how it might handle on dry turf, but it wouldn’t be surprising to find it handles more like deadweight. Overall I’m happy with case and I am confident it will provide secure storage and transport for many years to come. I have no problem recommending this case for large volume items.

Overall amazing

We use Pelican cases to host a portable digital library, with tablets, a mini-PC with 200GB of education content, and projectors.
