Treasure Hunt Mystery

My grandchildren were excited to find out that one of their ancestors was a pirate. They were too young to be able to figure the codes out alone but enjoyed discussing whether the characters in the story were “good guys or not “. They were so excited to receive the treasure chest and were happy with their treasure.

I had ten days with my three grandchildren.. two were siblings one was visiting.. ages 5,6 and 8.. I put out letters from the hunt every two days or so.. during slow times of the day.. They loved the mystery hunt.. I had them all around where they live looking for clues.. helping decode the secret code the pirates use.. reading whole newsletter and doing puzzle.. it was a true success.. plus one of the pirates names was a surname in our family so they really thought it was real.. On the airplane returning home with one of the grandchildren .. she asked “Gama, did you remember to split up the treasure so I could have some?” I said “oh gosh, I forgot.. but you already have a treasure chest with gold coins and jewels..” “Gama.. that’s fake.. this is real!!!”

Treasure Hunt

Both my grandchildren loved it! So fun to watch their thinking when trying to solve the mystery together. I will try another Mail Order Mystery for them in the future!
