An everlasting token of friendship

My friend was thrilled to receive the fig, a present chosen because she has a magnificent fig tree in her South London garden. Jo is soon to be reading a poem at my wife’s funeral. The standard thank you gift of a bunch of flowers is lovely but so ephemeral. A beautiful bronze fig made by Alice Ewing will sit on my friend’s desk, be seen every day, and every day remind her of a 40 year friendship that began when Jo was an A level English student and my wife was her teacher. The bronze fig is a physical manifestation of an everlasting friendship. Buying the fig from Author was a blessing. They were so accommodating and solicitous
