Good Concept, A Few Flaws

The concept is great however after using it does have a few flaws. The youtube video is a must watch for putting it together. It was very easy to follow. The automatic watering system is flawed. After getting it put together and putting chicks inside, I came out the next morning to find the water had completely drained out onto the floor and I had dead chicks. I still haven't been able to get the waterer to work, it continues to drain out of the cups on its own. I also have determined there isn't enough ventilation in these brooders so I have drilled extra holes. We lost quiet a few chicks to the summer heat and even with a fan, there just wasn't enough ventilation inside these brooders. I do love the feeders, it is designed very well for non-waste. The trays make it very easy to clean, I usually line mine with potty pads to help keep it simple clean up.

This is an expensive product for the quality. It comes in 1000 pieces with terrible directions and poor quality cuts on the plastic that need to be cut further to make pieces fit. The thermostat is only in Celsius (so you have to convert to Fahrenheit every time to know a temp or learn Celsius). It arrived with defective parts (doors cracked and water pipe not sealing properly), which I’m waiting on replacements to arrive. It does make brooding chicks more convenient, which is the ONLY reason it gets 3 stars, but I feel like there are better options out there for the hefty price tag.

My only complaint is that I have a few chickens who rough house the doors open but other than that it’s wonderful easy to keep clean and it’s awesome
