Great sound

So much more detail than my previous studio phones. I'm getting used to the hefty feel, they're comfortable enough and who cares anyway. . . when they sound this good.

Great sounding headphones

Great sound out of the box. Bass is great but could maybe use some eq depending on how noticeable you want you bass to be. Wouldn’t mind if treble were also clearer and sharper too. But it’s great for video games. For sure.

They are flat and unflattering. . . . perfect!

I use them to mix music. Cubase 14 pro, Steinberg UR44C interface. I have been using ATH-M50 and AKG K340 headphones prior to this. These are the best headphones I have ever owned. The only other open back headphones I own are AKG K340's. They are a bit heavy but they are totally comfortable. The cable connection choice at first seems odd, it is not, I have yet to have the problem of the cable getting in the way or being a problem, it reminds you nicely it's there. I do warn that for the first few weeks of use they will have you questioning things about your mixes to my ear they are flat and unflattering thus some of your prior choices may be rethought. I have not done any serious listening on other systems to my mixes yet. The open back design did have the standard drawback of hearing things like the metronome click in an acoustic guitar track due to the mic picking it up. So for tracking maybe not the answer. I will be buying a pair of Audeze LCD-S20's for tracking. I am all in on the Audeze experience. They are great headphones. One last note. The Steinberg interface and most interfaces of this type have a headphone power amp that is at the low end (bare minimum) of the power requirements for the LCD-X headphones and it is noticeable. I will be upgrading to a headphone DAC for critical mixing. Buy them, you won't be disappointed.
