Approach ageing with caution? Hell no: we're going at it full pelt!
Run Forever is my kind of book: a perfect fusion of academic reader and a highly practical user manual. It's jam packed with evidence-base and wisdom, offering personal experience, expert knowledge and science. It covers all aspects of ageing as an athlete in an upfront and honest account of Damian’s own experience (as well as other case studies) and leaves me with a reassuring sense of empowerment and hope: that my running future is (mostly) in my hands.
As an enthusiastic trail and ultra runner who didn’t start until their late 30s, and really didn't start taking it seriously until their late 40s, I’ve got big plans for the next phase of my running adventures (50s). I’ve just signed up to my dream race, and with the help of Run Forever will cautiously allow myself to consider that perhaps, this more ‘senior’ version of me is actually a superpower. I highly recommend this book to anyone who feels fear or resignation about ageing, and the impact it will have on their performance or enjoyment of their running. As a running coach of athletes aged from their 20s to 70s, I’m already implementing the knowledge from Run Forever to refine how I design programmes and coach.
Ageing is inevitable, but your mindset for approaching most certainly isn’t!

A reassuring guide for the aging
Damian nails the funny, reassuring and informative guide to aging well. I loved the mixture of nutritional and strength guides as well as the case studies. An inspiring read
