Fall Heads Roll

A quality reissue that looks and (largely) sounds great

Like many of the recent Cherry Red Fall reissues, this is nicely presented with copious notes from involved parties. The discs look great, but like much modern coloured vinyl suffers from some crackling in the quiet parts of the disc (and no, it's not my setup!). I would still recommend purchase, unless you have a spare £200 for an original!

My first Fall LP on vinyl…

Although I already had previously purchased this album as a digital download, I scarcely ever listened to this album right the way through. Now, with vinyl, I don’t skip tracks, which I find I usually do with either cd’s or with digital/streaming downloads. I just like The Fall’s later post 90’s stuff, mainly, as I was a bit of a late starter getting into their music; and vinyl allows me to appreciate the album as it was meant to be heard - right the way through! I like the splatter artwork, too, which is a style of coloured vinyl I usually don’t go for, but truth be told, made me buy the LP, and I like the songs, which is the more important reason for getting this record. Even if you missed out on the splatter design edition, and like their music, give this a try on black vinyl!
