The item came and is of good quality. It is plastic. I was concerned about the magnetic connecters because they seemed very loose but it actually turned out fine because they have stayed attached and it's easier to change the batteries. I was also concerned that the 3 year old boy that I babysit could break it quickly but it has stayed together under his rough play.

My kids love it but it would be great if it were a little more powerful for ramps/long trains.
