(one of) The only option in this essential category? Touring means your hands heat up. So, you need thin, breathable gloves. At the same time, you want some water resistance and dureabily on the palm and fingers, so leather is required. Then, in case it’s snowing, you want the backhand to be woven, knot knitted. Finally, most skiers these days use smart phones for photos and navigation, so touchscreen fingers is key. These check all the boxes. The only con is the black fabric. This makes the hard to find in the dark or in a bag, and more importantly, makes them hot in the sun. Please change the back to some kind of light color. Grey or tan, for neutral colors seems good, but personally I would love something bright.

I've used these gloves on a few ski tours so far, and they are just what I was looking for.

Good backcountry gloves
Tour gloves have good construction, weight and materials is exactly what you would want from a touring glove. Water resistant on the back, leather on the palm. There are some minor fit issues though - the fingers are very long as noted by other reviews. I was between sizes and even downsized, but the fingers are strangely long, even though the thumb fits perfectly.
