The "original" silicone is stiffer

There is no listed difference on the website between this and the newer version other than "original silicone." After some digging online, it means the newer versions are softer. Unfortunately, I did not know that before I bought them and they were too hard for me. I think if someone prefers a firm fit or has very large ear canals they are a good option. I purchased the smaller size in the softer silicone because I apparently have small, weird ear canals, which I don't think would have been as much of an issue with the regular size in the softer silicone, but the stiffer silicone is less forgiving of size discrepancy. They do slowly work their way out of my ears over time as I talk and chew, but they are much less noticeable than before. I would recommend buying combo pack of both sizes if you are unsure or if things like earplugs and earbuds never seem to fit you right or you seem to get an ear infection every time you go swimming. Maybe you too have small ear canals. I find the noise reduction comforting at crowded events and fairs. I feel more present and less distracted and annoyed by extraneous sounds and other people. Road noise too. There is a very slight "echo" of your own voice when talking, but much less than with ear plugs. I find comfort in knowing that my situational awareness is not necessarily reduced in the same way as wearing earplugs either. They are useful under certain circumstances for me, and worth the price, but there's no real way to know what size you need without trying them on. "ear canal diameter" isn't a common or easy thing to measure. Customer service is very helpful and responsive. I recommend reaching out to them if you have an issue with your order.

The pegs are great with being able to clip clothes hangers onto them. Love this.
