Pineapple Ground Cherry

Always a favorite

We love pineapple tomatillos for making chutney and eating out of hand. Territorial’s seeds have never failed us. I start the plants under lights indoors but this year had a family emergency that took me away from home and left the poor seedlings to fend for themselves for awhile without regular watering . When I got back home I put them in the ground late—and then a cold spell hit. In short, the cards were stacked against them. Not to worry! They rebounded like champs (even the worst one I almost pulled!) and now are loaded with pineapple tomatillos on the verge of ripening. I’ve already picked a couple and enjoyed their sweet, tangy flavor while working in my patch. My friends are anxiously awaiting their jar of chutney.

Seeds didn’t grow😥

Was so sorry my seeds haven’t germinated. I Love these - they did last year but the new pack has produced tiny single leaf germ plants that later die. So sad.
