Delicious peas
Good early germination rate well before my last frost, tasty pods. My ducks especially love them.

Good emergence and growth
I get poor emergence in my soil with most pea cultivars I've tried, possibly due to relatively high pH and salt. Avalanche emerges far better than others I've tried. It grows fairly well and produces OK but not great in our situation. To be fair, the garden is in open ground in Colorado, experiencing lots of spring wind and unseasonably warm weather (high 80s and low 90s in May).
