Lagoon Crushed Opal

The Lagoon Opal is absolutely beautiful!

Similar to the Black Emerald, but a little more blue.

This is a nice opal. Similar to the Black Emerald, but a little more blue in it. I tried using a black background at first, but wasn't completely satisfied with the look of the ring. I hate to waste opal by digging it out, but there's not much point to having a ring you're not satisfied with since you're not likely to wear it. The opal is wasted either way. So put it back on the lathe and dig it out I did. Then I used up almost all of the remaining opal I had filling in the channel completely with opal with no pigment added. The results are much better. I haven't taken a picture of the finished product yet, but perhaps I'll add a picture in the future. This isn't my favorite opal so far, but it is a nice opal. I'll be buying more.
