Real fine, no shims needed.

A real jewel at a good price. Nothing wrong with using shims between the handlebars and stem but this is the better more elegant option for my "Left Bank" handlebars (25.4).

Stem replacement

I replaced the 11 cm quill stem on my 1994 Litespeed Catalyst with a shorter 9 cm VO stem with 6 degree rise with a quill stem adapter for a more upright position. Very nice quality with a beautiful finish. My only regret is not getting a stem for 31.8 mm bars instead of my old 25.4 bars. It’s hard to find compact drop bars with a 25.4 mm clamp area. However, the new components serve the purpose for a shorter stack and reach. They complement the look of a vintage bicycle. For my 59 cm frame, there was room to lower the quill stem adapter quite a bit more than in the photo if needed.

The multiple lengths and angle options allowed me to dial in my Nitto Billie Bars. Perfect! It'd be hard to find a better looking stem at this price point. The logo is thoughtfully integrated and understated, allowing my bike to shine.
