ZEN Stream 3

Excellent streamer. Using it with the black Valkyrie and a range of Grado headphones. Many hours on the clock already!

Is it possible…

Okay, I just got the Zen Stream 3 yesterday. Ethernet LAN line hook up etc. is pretty much plug and play. Everything seems far more stable than the previous model which I owned. The first generation was known for connection issues, but it sure sounded good. The Zen Stream 3, however, is on another level. I’m sure the improved hardware, capacitors, etc. helps considerably. I’m also a fan of the K2 technology. To my ears, it ever so slightly “relaxes” the music. But, here is the real discovery. I switched the Zen Stream 3 with a Volumio Rivo and a LHY linear power supply. I’m using a usb connection to a Denefrips Pontus 15th. The speakers are Mofi Sourcepoint 10 Master Edition. At this point in time the Zen Stream 3 sounds at least as good, if not better than the Volumio Rivo. And that is with just the wall wart plug (it is not the one shown on the website). I’m going to do more comparison. The difference, thus far, seems to be in that “relaxed” presentation of the music. Besides it looks cool. I’m interested in what others say comparing the Zen Stream 3 to more expensive streamers. The faj
