The light bulbs only cascade light from the upper half of the bulb. If your bulb will be exposed at all, do not purchase as it looks tacky. I bought a glass-shade lamp for these bulbs, the shade has bevels in it to diffuse the light, but seeing the bulb only half lit up is… quite dumb. Im having to frost the glass after market so that these bulbs will be the least but enjoyable.

They just worked perfectly. Easy to control from the app and I now have six lamps with these bulbs in them.
