Skinny pups can slip out this vest!
We love the padded vest! It is well-made, water-resistant, easy to clean and fashionable! But I wish it was snug enough (on my dog) to use WITHOUT an external harness.
We have a long & lean cattle dog mix who we refer to as a "skinny noodle" who did well in this vest for weeks until he slipped out of it while on a walk! We followed all sizing recs and sized up when his measurements were in-between sizes (as recommended by Gooby). Maybe the coat stretched out after a few weeks of use? He is a growing 10month old pup so he has not been shrinking in size. Thankfully, he came running back to us as it was around 0F in Chicagoland. But now I am too afraid to exclusively use the built-in harness inside of this vest - I have been putting another harness on top of the vest and/or attaching a leash to his collar.
