Vibe in a plugin
I bought it for the PWM compressor with variable RMS/Peak detection - which is not something you see a lot. Love that compressor - but find that the EQ now replaces my go to Pultec EQ - more flexible than the original design. And the saturation it imparts is just gorgeous on the mix bus, as I said 'vibe in a plugin'.

I've mostly used it so far to transparently smooth out transients in acoustic guitar and white I know I've barely scratched the surface, it's already become my go-to for that purpose! Very transparently controlling peaks and locking parts in place!

Lives up to the hype!
I have WAY too many plugins. Most are nothing special, just solid tools. Among my dynamics and eq plugs there is so much effective duplication and redundancy that it can eat major time just deciding what type and flavor to use for any given situation. I just tried Virela in demo mode and was immediately blown away at how quickly I could dial in a really hard hitting mix with analog warmth, while still retaining clarity, and with incredible punch, all by just using an instance on each channel. When I sit back down to that mix again I’m going to try it on the master buss, too (for some additional glue and another layer of whatever kind of saturation/analog modeling magic voodoo dust they’ve sprinkled on the code to make a plugin that really delivers, really sings.) With the current sale price, I just couldn’t pass it up. I highly recommend people demo this plugin for themselves! To me, it really is one worth writing home about.
