Hope for many years of use!
I’ve been on the hunt for a sofa that meets a few criteria…spills, cat hair, comfort, and specific size. I owned a previous sectional from Living Spaces that was all sewn in one piece (something I didn’t notice in store), I couldn’t flip or clean cushions and one spill and cat claws and the entire sofa was quickly ruined. A coworker found Bellamia and purchased a sectional for their home so I was able to look and sit on it before purchasing, it is difficult to order and really know a piece of furniture online. For a sectional I needed a specific size and so many were either too long or too short for my space. I ordered fabric swatches and took a chance for the green performance velvet while I normally prefer a neutral color. I’m a good real life review because we all spend time on our sofas which comes with life, spills, and pets! This sofa has held up for cat hair, easier to see on the dark green and keep clean, claws have not yet shown any damage, I’ve spilled water, coffee, and soda and it beads up and is easy to clean if you catch it quick. Unsure yet if it would soak in if left longer but a towel absorbs and I have no had to use extra cleaning besides soaking it up and a towel to dry. I use a Chom Chom roller, hand-mitt, and lint roller when I need to clean cat hair, lint, or debris and so far so good! For my review and photos I let cat hair accumulate on her new favorite spot on the ottoman to show real life living! I’ve spilled a tiny drop of nail polish and have yet to remove that but it’s so small and the color is dark so I will probably leave it because I’d rather not ruin it trying to remove and I learned my lesson. I have yet to remove any cushions covers and place in the washing machine so I cannot speak on that.
My only negative concerns are that I have no idea what it’s made of inside but I had an arm make a crunching sound when I leaned on it, so not sure how structurally sound it may be long term, Bellamia did replace the arm/corner when I contacted them, and the pull for the storage ottoman broke quickly from its staples, I plan to re-staple it over replacing or contacting them and just tucked it inside for now, positive is that the ottoman holds a large amount of storage and the pull is very minor. I’ve also set a hot bowl of soup on the side arm and possibly the heat affected the fabric and it’s been there to stay, so don’t do that! I’m 5’1” and the sofa is shorter and deep with a relaxed lounge feel but being short, if I get cozy in the corer and then have to get up it is a little harder than my previous structured sofas.
The shipping was quick and delivery was easy, someone had to be home to sign and it comes in many large boxes and packaging so be prepared for the clean up from that, pieces all slide together. I would say it took a a few hours just to unbox, put together, and breakdown boxes and gather trash. Hope my choices, cat life, and mishaps can help the next customer!
