I’ve been running the JetFleet G18 in a VESC-based Onewheel with a 40S (168V) battery pack, and so far it has been one of the most impressive controllers I’ve used.
Installation was straightforward thanks to the included GT mounting plate. It fit perfectly in the GT enclosure and made for a very clean, seamless install without any custom fabrication.
What stands out the most is how incredibly quiet this controller is. I’ve tested several VESC controllers over the years, and the G18 drives my motor noticeably quieter than any of them. The motor is essentially silent in operation. I suspect the excellent current sensing implementation is a major contributor here, as the controller’s sampling quality appears exceptional. The result is extremely smooth and refined motor control. The G18 uses a GaN power stage and is designed around low-noise current sensing and high-speed switching, which aligns well with what I’m experiencing in real-world use.
Thermal performance has also been outstanding. During normal riding, controller temperatures typically stay only 12–18°C above ambient. The GaN FETs are clearly doing their job here, delivering very low losses and excellent efficiency even at high voltage. JetFleet specifically highlights the low-loss GaN power stage as a core design feature, and my experience backs that up.
Another highlight is the IMU performance. Running at 3840 Hz, it produces a very stable ride feel with no observable nose hunting or oscillation. The board feels locked in and predictable, even when pushing harder.
The integrated ESP32-C3, VESC Express support, and high-voltage capability up to 168V make it a very compelling platform for advanced builds. The hardware is clearly designed with high-performance applications in mind.
Finally, customer support has been excellent. The JetFleet team has been responsive and helpful whenever I’ve had installation or configuration questions, which is especially valuable when working with cutting-edge hardware.
Overall, the G18 has exceeded my expectations. If you’re building a high-voltage VESC platform and want exceptional efficiency, outstanding thermals, near-silent motor operation, and great support, it’s an easy recommendation.
