French Defense with a twist

The opening is extremely similar to French Defense but it lacks that hint of medicinal cherry in it. Most may prefer that this smells more natural but I honestly kind of liked the slight medicinal edge of the original (maybe it’s just comforting). However, the performance is actually better than the original and outside of the missing medicinal edge, it’s about 90% accurate to French Defense… until the dry down. French Defense almost smells like Hugo Boss Extreme in the dry down with the heavy emphasis on woods, but the woods are less sharp in the dry down with a more floral edge. It smells great but if you’re a huge fan of the French Defense dry down, it won’t be the same. However, still a great fragrance and a great pickup, especially for the price. When I run out, I’ll definitely be buying again.
