Bolt Z-Wave

Great smart lock. Installed fairly easily a s works really well. I like the fact that is not wifi based.i like the security of Zwave.

I love the lock. It is easy to configure and join to my Home Assistant network. The only downside is the fact the "interior" side of the lock is not weather resistant. I wanted to use the lock on an exterior gate, but the exposure to weather makes this an issue. NOTE: The website FAQ clearly states the interior side is not weather resistant so this is more of a request than a complaint.

I was skeptical of the zwave function. I had read reports that users would need the Xthings app in order to enable zwave function. In fact, I emailed their support about this and they claimed that to be true! It was too late though because I had already ordered this lock. However, to my surprise I did not need the app at all! 100% works with zwave. I use zwave js ui and added the lock with smart add. The instructions mention pressing the ulock button to set it into inclusion mode. That button is the big button that locks and unlocks the door. I’m very excited that I did not need a proprietary app. Remember if any zwave manufacture requires an app to “enable” zwave then do not buy that product! Again, this works 100% with zwave, no app needed! I got all entities with it and can even set codes for it via home assistant! Now the lock itself. It’s my 2nd one and this one is several years newer than my old lock. It’s much quieter than the old one. And just like my old lock, the bolt on this lock is longer than your standard dead bolts. Personally, I think that’s a good thing but be aware you may have to chisel out your bolt port on the door. Not a big deal, took me 5 mins to do it I would absolutely buy this lock again
