Fantastic!
As an (female) archaeology student, finding decent work trousers for excavations, surveys and general fieldwork have been extremely challenging; they need to be stretchy and comfortable, provide a full range of movement (extended crouching during excavating, hiking and climbing during surveys), lightweight but robust enough to not get snagged in bushland, ideally quick drying, and actually fit the female body.
I am between size 10 and 12, after reading reviews I sized down and the 10 fits perfectly. As someone with a small waist, wide hips, big thighs and bum, these trousers fit beautifully and are so flattering, I love the high-waisted fit; free of a waist-gap and camel-toe! The stretchy fabric and elasticated, adjustable waist is so comfortable, and the belt loops are a great addition. The pockets are great; very deep and loads of them!
The fabric is lightweight but strong, and quick drying (after washing or working in the rain), keeping me dry during light showers. They are comfortable during warm weather (although a lighter colour may be better suited to warm/hot weather), and layering thermal leggings underneath kept me perfectly warm in colder, windy weather.
Being 5ft 2 (155cm), my only criticism is that they are a bit long and need taking up. The reinforced knees are great, especially for excavation work, however being short, the reinforcement sits slightly below my knees. A petite version would be great, or at least the addition of an elasticated cuff at the ankles (which would also make it easier to tuck them into work boots).
Thank you, Zadie for creating these amazing trousers, I am so glad I no longer have to hunt around for the perfect trouser and can get on with my fieldwork in comfort! I will be purchasing another pair in Navy.
