The backplate looks good and was relatively easy to install. However, my unit has a sharp point around the triggers that can make it uncomfortable to hold, especially if you normally rest your fingers there. This can probably be sanded down, though.

Mostly perfect

The back panel is nearly perfect in my opinion. It certainly lowered operating temps, I notice my fan kicks on a lot less and never gets as loud/fast as it used to. Plus the clear back is rad, takes me back to my GBA days. My only complaint is the right trigger catches slightly on the case when pressed down and with pressure leaning towards the right, as if there's just a slight tolerance issue. The Right bumper also doesn't feel right, and doesn't actuate as smoothly as it used to. It works, but it feels wrong.

Great transparent back plate

I got this at the same time I got the bigger drive for the Steam Deck and replaced both at the same time. I would recommend hitting the original case screws with a little heat (hair dryer) and a screwdriver that fits the screw head properly. They can be easy to strip if you are not careful. I'm not a huge fan of RGB but it is an option that can look nice sometimes. The fact that it has it's own battery and doesn't work via the Steam Deck battery is a big plus. Another thing I like about this kit is the different back buttons that come with the back plate. You can pick one of three options depending on what feels best for your hands/fingers. I don't really have any cons to this kit. The thing that I'm not completely sold on is the silicone grips. I have them on but I'm not sure they are there to stay. But again, it's a nice option to have included if it's something you may like.
