Great set of films from one of my favorite Japanese directors.
When this was announced I was so excited. Two Fukasaku films I hadn't seen are always welcome. Violent Panic in particular was on my list of films I wanted to see as it's a heist/chase film and Fukasaku can turn violence into art at anytime. It also features on of the most bonkers chase scenes I've ever seen. Both films are excellent and well worth a watch. Highly recommended to all fans of the director or Japanese cinema.
Double shot of Fukasaku to the brain
As someone trying to complete the works of director Kinji Fukasaku, this was an immediate double-dip after Eureka’s release of Wolves, Pigs and Men, simply for the sake of Violent Panic… the slip art also made the purchase easier. The transfer is great on both films, and seemingly the same, or on par, with Eureka’s release of WP&M. Features are light, but still very good for what is offered. Overall, really happy with this one!
Great Fukasaku Double-Feature
From the maker of Battles Without Honor & Humanity and Battle Royale comes a helluva double-feature. Lesser known works by a Japanese master are nevertheless still masterworks of the genre and the transfers are both great and authentic.
