Based on it appearance, I was expecting a softer shoe

Its soft inside due to the lining, but I was expecting a softer shell since it appeared to be a fabric shell. Its more rigid. Its ok though. Also the size runs a little narrow. Beware fat foot brethren!

Great Slippers - Not for Wider Feet

These slippers are awesome! Warm and comfortable with a good sole if you need to grab something out of the truck or take our the garbage. I wear a 2E width, and these are definitely too narrow for me, but I wears them nonetheless.
