These are safely portable and I like that they come with the ring so they could be put on a keychain or hung up. They cut decently well but do get a bit stuck sometimes (due, I think, to the mechanism that allows them to fold up). I bought them for quick, small cuts such as cutting thread for a project and they work well for my intended use.
